Visit by Tom Avery

A full house of budding adventurers listened eagerly to the daring escapades of Mr Tom Avery.

It was so refreshing to be told tales of danger and dedication by the very hero who had experienced the excitement. There is something magical about the atmosphere created during an excellent talk that you can not recreate on the television or at the cinema. It was telling that after the talk a blizzard of hands flew up and the questions far out lasted the time available.

As the first talk in a planned series of high profile speakers this was an inspiring inauguration.

8CS were challenged to create a piece of Flash Fiction (a story of 100 words or less). So inspired were they by Mr Tom Avery's anecdotes that they based their work on his courage to triumph in adversity.
