Chapel Choir Cathedral Performance

On Monday 7th May the Old Buckenham Hall Chapel Choir, comprising of boys and girls between the ages of 8 and 13, performed a Lunchtime Recital at St Edmundsbury Cathedral, Bury St Edmunds. The choir performed a varied repertoire of pieces including two Bob Chilcott pieces, ‘All Things Pass’ and ‘Can You Hear Me?’, The Lord’s My Shepherd by Stuart Townend, and two pieces by American composer Don Besig, ‘A Choral Benediction’ and ‘Flying Free’ among other pieces. There were stunning solos from several female pupils. The choir thoroughly enjoyed performing in such a beautiful building and with such a receptive audience. Many thanks indeed go to the cathedral staff for allowing us to perform there and to the parents and pupils of OBH for their fantastic support. It was a thoroughly enjoyable way to spend a bank-holiday lunchtime.

Next up for the choir is the release of their album ‘For The Fallen’ and a live performance of material from the album on Friday 25th May in the Britten Hall at OBH.
