After a busy afternoon of matches, the boarders ‘chilled out’ on the Saturday evening; some going outside for a swim or round of golf
whilst others watched a film. The Champions League Final caused great excitement in the boys’ house, especially the penalty shoot-out at the end!The highlight of the weekend was undoubtedly the Sun- day trip to Southwold –
Fifty seven boarders accompanied by Mr Bunting, Rev’d Watson, Mrs Warren, Mrs Kirby-Smith, Miss Bullen and Miss Mueller, set off for Southwold. With a rather mixed and chilly sounding weather forecast, all were wearing plenty of layers but thankfully no wet weather gear was needed.
After numerous head counts on arrival and reminders to stay within groups, the children shot off holding tightly
to their pocket money to explore the arcades and souvenir shops along the pier. The children pumped all their 2ps into the slot machines and a particular favourite proved to be a game called “Whack the Banker” which Mr Bunting joined in with much gusto.
It was also a nice opportunity to buy little goodies for Miss Mueller whose birthday was the next day.
Mr Bunting brought everyone a well deserved ice cream and then the children entered into the spirit of the sand castle building competition. The eventual joint winners were a very realistic looking shark with sharp little stones as teeth and a very impressive face that unintentionally looked rather like Shrek!
