Following an extensive Winter training programme with a large number of pupils taking tennis lessons either at school or at their local clubs, the school tennis teams have achieved tremendous success this term in their respective tournaments.
The Under 9 mixed team won their 1st round tournament comprehensively and have qualified for the Suffolk Finals on Thursday 14th June.
The Under 11A boys team remain unbeaten and have also qualified for the Suffolk Finals on Tuesday 19th June at Brandeston. Meanwhile the Under 11B team still have a chance to qualify if they can win their last game in the yet to be rearranged game against Ipswich Prep School.
At Under 13 level the Boys 1st IV were not quite so successful against some very strong schools having won 2 and lost 2 ,but the matches have given the opportunity to a number of different players in Year 7 & 8 to play in the team.
The Girls 1st IV meanwhile have remained unbeaten in the Suffolk ‘B’ league and they now qualify for the Suffolk Finals at Woodbridge on Friday 22nd June.
Huge congratulations to these teams, for the hard work that they have put in to practising and to Mr Whiting for all the time and effort that he has put into helping them progress with their tennis. We look forward to reporting on the Suffolk Finals later in the term.
