Sunday dawned and unfortunately the heavens opened.
After a rather soggy trip to the 10 am Communion service at Thorpe Morieux, the children enjoyed a morning of table tennis, football and a few brave souls ventured out for clay pigeon shooting.
After a delicious lunch of roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, the children enjoyed an after-noon of team building. The children were put in mixed teams and a group leader was chosen. Each group were asked to carry out a range of challeng-ing tasks including working together to build the tallest freestanding newspaper tower, crossing a minefield and untying themselves from a human knot. All the children worked very well in their teams and there were excel-lent communication skills on display. At the end, the scores were totted up and well done to the winning team led by India Simmonds.
Despite the weather, everyone enjoyed getting involved and great fun was had by all. A big thank you to Miss Barrett for organising such a fun afternoon and putting together such a varied selection of activities.
