The Friends of OBH will be holding a Cocktail Party in the Drawing Room to welcome in the new school year. Invitations to follow…….
The weekend boarders’ BBQ & pool party had to be postponed due to severe bad weather with thunderstorms, lightning and
torrential rain which lasted over 2 hours. Instead we brought the BBQ indoors and ate delicious burgers, sausages, chicken
kebabs and salad followed by yummy cupcakes and ice-cream. We then created a mini-cinema in the Drawing room where High School Musical was shown on the big screen. Mr Miller even braved the torrential downpours to retrieve some tuck.
During the evening the Year 8 OBE challenge returned dripping wet from head to toe as their campsite had been washed out! They were dried out and we then sent them back on their way again on Sunday morning for the remainder of their challenge.
On Sunday the rest of the weekend boarders enjoyed a lovely trip to Southwold, where we gorged on fish and chips on the pier and ate scrummy icecream cones after the most immense sandcastle competition, which was won by Barney, Ted, Jorge and Gus!
“OBH Fest” is our next ‘Open Boarding’ experience on Saturday 25th June – be sure to sign up!

The Girls’ Night In and the Boys’ Night out were awesome. The girls loved making their own pizzas, icing cup-cakes and creating bath bombs, painting their nails, doing their hair and chilling out in front of a chick flick! Lots of pop-corn and sweets galore were consumed whilst watching high school musical.
The boys’ night out was equally fantastic as they created and cooked burgers on the campfire, tucked into some ice-cream
and played manhunt, water balloon skittles and enjoyed their freedom until it got dark.
On Sunday we walked to church at Brettenham as it was such a beautiful day. The Year 8’s represented the school superbly when they served breakfast at Rattlesden Church. After lunch the Mars bar boat race challenge was set and teams competed to create a vessel that would carry a mars bar from one side of the swimming pool to the other! Marcus Hall’s team won and got to consume some chocolate as a reward. The afternoon was spent at the pool or biking around the grounds and the Year 8’s went to the cinema to see a film as a treat for working hard on their revision in the afternoon.
