The Year 2 children have taken the lead in organising the event and will be hosting on the day. There will be a number of cake themed stalls and games, as well as tea, coffee and a cake stall.
If you are able to donate a cake for the cake stall, it would be hugely appreciated. Please bring them in on Friday morning and leave on the table in the Pre-Prep entrance hall. Whole cakes, tray bakes and other baked goodies will all be warmly welcomed!
On arrival at 2.30, you are welcome to collect your child and spend the afternoon together eating cakes and enjoying the stalls. Please bring lots of change as the Year 2s are charging 10p per game! If you are unable to attend the event, please don’t worry – your children will still be able to take part with their teachers, but please do send a few 10ps in a named envelope. Thank you.
Welcome to Boarding at OBH! The weather has been kind and the boarders have been able to play outside in Rory’s place, play on the astro and use their bikes. The evening activities have now started and all are kept very busy.
This weekend we had the London Underground themed party, and the boarders dressed up in a variety of costumes such as Bond Street, Angel, Bow Street, Bakerloo, Baker Street, Brixton, Seven Sisters, Paddington, Maida Vale, Russell Square and Bank, to mention just a few. The massive water slide was “the best fun ever” according to one of our Year 8 boarders and everyone loved slipping and sliding down it. Some of the staff could not resist it either! The 3-cracker challenge was a hit too, as was Twister, the hockey-stick dash, hula-hoop squash and taste the rainbow. All went off to bed, tired but very happy!
On Sunday, we attended Thorpe Morieux church for Holy Communion and welcomed parents back afterwards for morning coffee. We had a splashing time in the pool in the afternoon, and then opened the tuck shop. Afterwards the boarders played hide and seek, drew pictures, wrote letters home before enjoying an evening BBQ supper in the beautiful evening sun. It was a lovely weekend, thank you to all the children for being so much fun.
We are looking forward to “The Great Chariot Race” and “Unlocking the Lavenham Labyrinth”. A weekend of super sleuthing and creative building awaits you all.
In the Girls’ House we celebrated Charlotte Rowland’s 13th Birthday as well as Evalina’s 10th Birthday and in the Boys’ House, Lemmy was also 10.
