December, 2017:

Tom O’Sullivan

Current OBH Head Tom O’Sullivan will be taking up the headship at Cheltenham College Prep School from September 2018, which means that he will be leaving OBH at the end of the 2017/2018 academic year.

Tom has made a terrific contribution to OBH over what will be four years at the school, for which we are very grateful, and we wish him every success with his new role in the town where he grew up.

The Governors have begun the process of selecting Tom’s successor and will be seeking to make the appointment in the next few months so that there can be a smooth hand-over. OBH is one of the country’s leading prep schools and we anticipate it being an attractive opportunity for strong candidates. The Governors have a strategy in place to keep building on the recent successes and the new Head will be appointed on their ability to bring alive that strategy.

“When one door closes another door opens” as Alexander Graham Bell said. We will miss Tom’s inspirational character but we look forward to an exciting future.

Château de la Baudonnière, Normandy

We have an exciting French trip coming up for current Year 6 and 7 pupils: five days in the wonderful Château de la Baudonnière in Normandy from 17th to 21st October 2018 (during half-term). We will be travelling by coach and ferry to Caen to discover Mont Saint Michel, the Bayeux Tapestry and visit D-day landing beaches. There will be fun activities such as an assault course, fencing or bread-making, all in French – a sure way to improve fluency and improve our language skills.
