Lord Buckenham’s Task Master Returns: Volume 2 & Krashball

Earlier in the week some of our boarders went to Pizza Express to enjoy an evening out celebrating their success of being Star Boarders for Lent Term.

Then the weekend went off with a blast with the return of Lord Buckenham’s Taskmaster. The children had a great time solving tasks and getting covered in a lot of gunk at the same time. If you have ever imagined carrying water from one bucket to the next with sieves and cones with holes in, then you can imagine how frustrated the teams were becoming throughout the evening. Even more so with Egg Golf and Apple Bobbing before painting pictures of the Headmaster and Scooby. Great entertainment was had by all! The winners were THE DUDES who enjoyed their prizes before retiring for the night.

On Sunday we went to Brettenham for church before returning for a superb roast lunch and ice cream for pudding. We then had a little down time as full stomachs were not required for the afternoon, which saw all the boarders running around in big inflatable balls. Yes, Krashball was back….and forth and the boys and girls bounced and tumbled in all directions in the warm afternoon sun. Rest was required in the evening with a relaxing supper followed by playing in the grounds or riding on bikes for some, before bed time.

Chamber Concert

An enthusiastic audience were treated to an evening of the highest quality music-making at the Chamber Concert. Many of our best musicians in Years 5-8 performed on a wide variety of instruments in a variety of styles, show-casing the excellent work that our children put in with their teachers and practising at home and school. There were songs from the shows, Irish jigs on the bagpipes, masterworks of the classical repertoire and all sorts of other types of music: the variety was a particular feature, with something for everyone. At the end we had a special bonus performance from the Chantelles.
