Mars hosted their first House Charity Day in aid of Lizzie’s Fund. The day started with a wonderful assembly delivered by members of the House which highlighted the important work the Brain Tumour Charity are doing. The children also spoke about Lizzie herself and the true inspiration she is to us all.
All the children in Mars had the opportunity to eat lunch together over red table cloths surrounded by red balloons and bunting. It was lovely to have the House together and to see the older children engaging with younger members of the school.
The afternoon saw the House host a fair in the Britten Hall. The children were all very excited to set up their stalls; we had handmade pom poms, a tombola, ‘Hot Shots’ netball game, ‘Red Zone’, face painting, name the teddy and many more. It was a truly wonderful sight to see the children working together as a team. There was a brilliant atmosphere in the hall and lots of happy children.
Mars would like to thank everyone that generously donated prizes, sweets and second hand toys to the event. The whole day was a great success raising £554 for a very worthy cause.
