Headmaster’s Photography Competiton & OBH Upcycle Competition

The 2019 Headmaster’s Photography Competition is open to all pupils, from Pre-Prep to Prep School. The theme is ‘Spring’ and the digital image can be taken on any format camera or phone. There are many exciting ways to edit photos, from Photoshop on the computer to some fantastic Apps such as Colour Pop, Banksyfy, Fused and Enlight. All work is welcomed, from black and white, colour to abstract. We all enjoy taking photos at home and this theme will definitely inspire the children to get snapping and display their masterpieces!

The second exciting opportunity is our ‘OBH Upcycle Competition’ for budding designers in Years 5-8. The idea is that pupils find an old piece of unloved furniture such as a chair, shelving or small coffee table and redesign it into something really useful and beautiful. It is such a great project to get involved in as a family which promotes sustainability. Who can resist finding an old piece of furniture that is unloved and is transformed into a new piece of work? Entries can be placed in the foyer of the Britten Hall.

Both competitions are open now and the closing date for entry is 23rd April and there will be prizes for the best entries in each year. For further information, please speak to Mrs Bolton or Mr Swiney. Work for both competitions will be included in our Arts Festival Exhibition.
