‘A Flying Career in the Royal Air Force’ with Captain Alan Ferguson

Mr Griffiths could not have been more accurate when he said that it was a privilege to listen to Group Captain Alan Ferguson – ‘A Flying Career in the Royal Air Force’. The children were totally engaged listening to the wonderful information, chuckling about the fun adventures and being touched by the incredible bravery of such a wonderful gentleman. It was totally fascinating to see the extensive photographs that Group Captain Ferguson had put together and to learn about his military career.

The children really enjoyed studying the models of the impressive aircraft flown and looking at the uniform worn by an aircraft pilot. It was extremely interesting to hear about the varied roles that a pilot can have and the skills required. The perceptive questions and lingering students who were so keen to learn more reflected the levels of interest. Undoubtedly many children have been inspired to consider such wonderful opportunities that the Royal Air Force can offer. Sincere thanks to Group Captain Alan Ferguson. How lucky we all are at Old Buckenham Hall to have such links to such wonderful people.
