Boarding is comfortable, caring and above all fun!

We strongly believe in the value of boarding; by living together in a close community the children are able to build up their self-confidence, independence and community spirit.

We have three Boarding Houses; Lodge a senior girls’ house, Merton a senior boys’ house and Spero, a Monday – Friday junior boarding house for Year 3, 4 and 5 boarders. A recent refurbishment has ensured dorms are bright and modern with common rooms to relax in. The Headmaster lives in the heart of the school and a dedicated team of boarding staff are responsible for the overall welfare and day-to-day wellbeing of the boarders.

Enthusiastic staff run a range of activities during the evenings as well as a fun and structured weekend programme, making full use of our beautiful 80-acre grounds.

We make it easy for children and parents to grow into boarding. Many choose to start as day pupils and transfer to boarding once they have settled in. A range of boarding options are available; from flexi boarding through to full boarding. Flexi boarding can be especially helpful for busy working families, or to support pupils who would have a long journey into school. Pupils opt to stay two or more regular nights each week fixing their nights at the beginning of term.

Our Head of Boarding will keep in regular touch with parents to keep them up to date with their child’s progress and well-being. Children can contact home on school phones and email.

Parents are always welcome to visit for sport fixtures, concerts, productions and other social events.
