Gap Assistants  

Start date: Monday 1st September 2025 (2 x Gap Assistants) and Monday 5th January 2026 (1 x Gap Assistant)

Hours: 45 per week, term time only 

The Gap Assistants at OBH are a special part of the team and the whole community look forward to welcoming them in September each year. This is a really fun opportunity for a school-leaver who would like to spend an enjoyable year in Suffolk working with children. 

The successful candidates are expected to support the teaching staff in providing an excellent standard of education and care to all pupils at the School. They are required to perform their duties with enthusiasm and positivity and enhance the school’s pastoral system. Each Gap Assistant’s timetable consists of assisting different departments with their teaching programmes and supporting the boarding community at various times. Commis Chef

Old Buckenham Hall School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated Commis Chef who will be committed to supporting the School’s aims and objectives through the provision of nutritious, appealing and varied meals for students, staff and visitors. This is a varied role with the opportunity for much learning for someone at the beginning of their career in food preparation and service. The Catering Team work on a shift basis Monday to Friday with alternative Saturdays during term time being required as well as some holiday work.

Domestic Assistant

Old Buckenham Hall School is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and committed Domestic Assistant to support the Domestics Manager in ensuring that all areas within school premises are consistently cleaned to a high standard to provide a safe, hygienic and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. This role is for three hours per day between 4pm - 8pm on a shift basis during the term time and some cleaning days during the holidays.
